A Quick Note

So, I've been meaning to write this post for a couple weeks, and, won't lie, I haven't done it because I wasn't really sure what was coming next... Whether I'd launch a new site or pump some time into the blog and go with that or become a hermit and move to Montana. The options were and, kind of still are, dazzlingly wide-open for what's next for my little photography business.

What I can tell you is this: My old website was a bore. After three years of the exact same design and -- this part being totally my own fault -- mostly the same photos, I really, really just didn't want to associate myself with it anymore. So I cancelled my account with the host and shut it down. Like our favorite movie heroes (Ron Weasley, Nemo, Forrest Gump) I just went for it, without a real plan.

While I get whatever's next worked out... it's just me and the blog here, and you can be sure that I'm not going anywhere.

My email still works, and you can still catch me tweeting up a storm over on the Twitters. Until then:

Jessica+Bob Wedding

So, the funny thing about September weddings is they usually look really, really good on blogs in March. Everyone is thinking about their own fall wedding in the middle of a blizzard or horrific ice storm or it's been raining and below freezing for the last five days and you just can't help but smile about how nice things will be in six months.

That's how it USUALLY is in March. This year already feels a little like May and January pretty much felt like November, so, me waiting to post a bunch of summer stuff in the winter kinda backfired.

The good news is that you still get to see some pretty photos on the Internet. Let's get to it.

Lynn+Dave Married!

Working with Lynn+Dave on their wedding was a bit like working with old friends. I met them both at Ashley+Bryden's wedding in 2010 (look for the two of them in one or two photos) and was so excited to work with the same great group of people again.

Full disclosure: This photo was 42% posed.


We had trouble with the "Okay, now let's make this a serious pose" pose.


It was, like, a brazillion degrees outside, so we made the photos quick.


Guys don't really do much "getting ready," these days; it's much more just... watching YouTube on smartphones.


...and get routine medical exams.


I like bubbles, bubbles are my favorite.
